Job Summary

Native Energy Solutions is looking for an HSE Coordinator to support our operations in the Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming areas.

This is a shared regional HSE role providing hands-on safety support to our field operations, employees, and leadership teams. The HSE Coordinator will spend significant time in the field helping identify hazards, improve safety performance, conduct audits and observations, and ensure company and client safety expectations are being met.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable being in the field, working with people, and learning the different aspects of HSE. The right person will be willing to ask questions, learn our operations, identify hazards, and speak up when something does not look right.

This position requires someone who can build relationships with employees and supervisors while maintaining the safety standards expected by Native Energy Solutions and our clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE support for operations in the Bakken and Casper areas.
• Maintain a strong field presence and work directly with employees and supervisors.
• Conduct job-site inspections, safety audits, observations, and compliance reviews.
• Identify hazards and work with operations to correct issues.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations.
• Assist with employee onboarding, orientations, and safety training.
• Review and support JSAs/JHAs and other safety documentation.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, company, and client-specific requirements.
• Support client audits, meetings, and safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
• Assist with safety programs, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Help promote a strong safety culture while holding employees accountable to established standards.
• Communicate safety concerns and opportunities to operations and HSE leadership.
• Travel between the Bakken and Casper operations as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• OSHA 30-hour certification required
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with field employees, supervisors, and management
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic safety management systems
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel between assigned locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous safety, HSE, construction, oil & gas, electrical, industrial, or related experience
• First Aid/CPR certification
• NFPA 70E experience or training
• Incident investigation experience
• Experience with electronic safety management systems
• Oil & gas, electrical, construction, or industrial experience
• Experience working with client-specific safety programs and requirements

Physical Demands

• Ability to spend extended periods of time in the field and on active jobsites.
• Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate uneven or rough terrain.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and reach as needed while performing field inspections.
• Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, FR clothing, and safety footwear.
• Ability to work around and inspect equipment, vehicles, electrical systems, and industrial work areas.
• Ability to safely perform required field duties in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

Primarily field-based with time spent on active oil & gas, electrical, construction, industrial, and energy-related jobsites.
Regular exposure to outdoor environments, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and changing weather conditions.
Potential exposure to elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, chemicals, electrical equipment, heavy equipment, and moving vehicles.
May be required to work near energized and de-energized electrical equipment while following all applicable safety requirements.
Must be comfortable working around active construction and industrial operations
Occasional office work, meetings, training, and administrative duties.
Regular travel between the Bakken (Montana & North Dakota) and Casper, Wyoming areas.
Work schedules may vary based on operational and client needs, including occasional weekends or extended hours.
Strict adherence to Native Energy Solutions and client-specific safety requirements is always required.
