Position Overview

Easley Transportation is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced accounting professional to assist in oversight of daily financial operations. This role will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the overall efficiency of the accounting department.

We are looking for a dependable, high-performing accounting professional who takes initiative, demonstrates accountability, and is comfortable handling both day-to-day accounting responsibilities and higher-level financial operations.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable to new accounting software and processes, and committed to maintaining accurate and organized financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and capable of balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

This position reports directly to the Controller and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee vendor payment process.
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage customer billing, payment applications, collections, and aging reports.
• Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Maintain accurate financial records, perform bank and account reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies.
• Payroll: Assist with payroll processing, verification, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and support accounting personnel while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, strengthen internal controls, and improve financial processes.

Skills & Qualifications 

• Strong background in bookkeeping, full-cycle accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Above-average to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, reporting, and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of accounting software.
• Knowledge of payroll procedures, general ledger functions, and account reconciliation.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• 3–7+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required . Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check, in accordance with applicable laws.
