Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant works on an individual and team basis within the Accounting Department. He or she is responsible for timely and accurate reporting of financial information.Essential FunctionsTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Prepares and posts journal entriesPrepares general ledger account analysesParticipates and contributes in month end close processesReviews accounts payable entries and documentation by following generally accepted accounting principlesPrepares and submits use tax returns monthlyAssumes responsibility for effectively researching and resolving account discrepanciesPrepares related ad hoc reports for administrationReconciles bank & other balance sheet accounts monthlyWorks directly with management verifying and researching accounting related informationPrepares payroll-related analyses, reconciliations and journal entriesMonitors capital equipment inventories, including reconciliationAssists with the evaluation of internal controlsAssists in field work during financial auditsPrepares and distributes departmental and company financial reports monthlyPerforms compliances for unclaimed propertyRegular and predictable attendanceAbility to work in a cooperative manner with othersPerforms other duties as assigned including related clerical duties, such as but not limited to data-entry, scanning, sorting, and etc.Skills & AbilitiesEducation: Four year degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience: Three to Four years of general accounting experience preferredComputer Skills: Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in the use of accounting software. The use of Microsoft Office products is required. Intermediate Excel skills required.Other Requirements: Must be able to maintain strictest level of confidentiality. Must display honesty and integrity when producing, delivering and distributing information.
