The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

As an experienced Cardiac Catheter Lab Registered Nurse (CCL RN), you will assist physicians and allied healthcare staff in performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiac/endovascular, EP, Vascular and structural procedures. You will utilize knowledge of pathophysiology to ensure patients are prepared/educated/supported during procedures, whether monitoring, circulating, or assisting with scrub procedures.

Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) Catheter Lab specializes in Cardiac Cath, vascular, neurovascular (stroke) and structural heart procedures, as well as electrophysiology. Procedures performed in the Cath lab include the following: left and right heart catheterizations along with percutaneous intervention as necessary, intracoronary ultrasound, rotational atherectomy, balloon pump insertion, Impella insertion, left atrial appendage closure, catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolization, structural procedures (TAVR, Mitra Clip), neurovascular cerebral angiograms, stroke treatment, carotid stenting, treatment of cerebral aneurysms with coiling and pipeline interventions, peripheral and renal angiograms with intervention as necessary, Watchmen, CardioMEMs, and Electrophysiology (cardiac devices, ablations, PVI’s, laser lead extractions).

Qualifications:

  • Cath Lab experience is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of critical care experience is required.
  • Telemetry experience required.
  • Strong critical thinking/assessment skills.
  • Must be I.V. certified from an approved facility or complete the requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire to the unit.
  • Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Current and active New Jersey RN licensure is required. 
  • Baccalaureate Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) upon hire
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Full-Time, 12.5 Hr. Shift, 37.5 hours
  • On Call Required

Essential Functions :

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include :  

  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
  • Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
  • Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
  • Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
  • Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
  • Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes
  • Pursuing continued professional growth through access to continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career progression

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.
