Mental Health Worker III

The Mental Health Worker III is responsible for providing basic patient care, assisting the psychiatric patient to function more effectively within her/his abilities through individual and group processes and provides a safe environment for psychiatric patients, visitors, and employees. The Mental Health Worker III practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Policies and Procedure of the BHS Department, the Community Healthcare System (CHS) policies and procedures and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS.

Education/Experience:

• Associates degree in psychology, mental health, or related social services required.
• In lieu of an associates degree, 4 years experience in psychology, mental health, or related social services field.
• Minimum of two years experience as Mental Health Worker II or equivalent.
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and symptomology.
• CPR/BLS certified within the first 30 days of employment.
• Must complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and certification within first 30 days of employment.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and principles of growth and development for adults 18 through geriatric.
• Ability to function well in a multi-cultural environment.
