Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and is open to both in-person and virtual candidates—providing welcome flexibility to suit your strengths and needs. You’ll work with a dynamic middle school caseload, facilitating communication and fostering a supportive learning environment for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and fluency in English
• Active national or state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (i.e., EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
• Prior experience interpreting within educational settings, ideally at the middle school level
• Strong collaboration skills with teachers, administrators, and support staff
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in line with interpreting practices
• Ability to adapt to both in-person and remote/virtual interpretation modalities

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing clear and accurate interpretation for classroom instruction, activities, and school events
• Supporting student access to curriculum, peer interactions, and teacher communications
• Collaborating with school staff to enhance inclusion and accessibility
• Adapting interpreting approaches to meet the diverse needs of students
• Participating in IEP meetings as required to support student goals
• Maintaining up-to-date records and documentation per school protocols
