Loan Officer

Job Summary Full‑time outside sales position responsible for seeking and developing relationships for new business sources both internally and externally. Responsibilities Support the company’s growth through outside sales activities and lead generation. Travel regularly (at least weekly) to communities, realtors’ offices, and other locations to solicit new business and/or leads from home builders. Conduct “First Time Homebuyer Seminars” in communities on a regular basis to develop leads and build relationships with New Home Consultants and prospective homeowners. Participate in builder and realtor functions, status meetings, phase releases, phone banks, and special events to develop and maintain relationships and provide customer service. Meet with prospective and current customers in various communities to explain the company’s offerings, obtain loan applications and required documents, and attend closings. Review leads daily and contact prospective customers via telephone and email to set up in‑person or virtual meetings. Originate and prepare new loans in accordance with the “Loan Officer” agreement and the Products and Policies manual guidelines. Advise and recommend mortgage loan products based on the customer’s individual needs. Review interest rates as needed, lock loans with borrowers in accordance with the Secondary Marketing Pricing and Rate Lock Policies and Procedures manual, at least fifteen days prior to closing. Provide assistance to New Home Consultants on pre‑qualifications of customers to develop a pipeline for outside sales and keep them informed of loan status. Meet or exceed closed loan capture rate, spot loan objectives for the division, and/or other established sales goals set by the Division Manager. Maintain reports and notes within the origination computer system to ensure complete exchange of information regarding loan application, status, communications, underwriting, lock information, projected closings, incentives, and expenses. Qualifications Preferred: Four‑year college degree. At least three years of loan originating experience. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends. Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. NMLS license required, or willingness to obtain one.
