Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 36 or 48 Hours/Week Available
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Required as Needed
Pay Rate: $52 – $54/hr
Estimated Weekly Pay:

• 36 Hours: $1,872 – $1,944/week**

• 48 Hours: $2,496 – $2,592/week**

Job Summary

DCH Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to provide care in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU). The CSICU is a 4-bed critical care unit specializing in the post-operative recovery of cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring. The CSU is an 8-bed stepdown unit focused on recovery following cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.

Candidates must be comfortable floating to other units and affiliated hospitals as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN License (Alabama or Compact License)

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required

• Experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patients

• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring experience

• Strong critical care assessment and intervention skills

• Ability to float to other units and facilities as needed

• Must meet all facility credentialing requirements

Required Credentials

• RN License (AL or Compact) – Required

• AHA BLS Certification – Required

• AHA NIH Stroke Scale Certification – Required

• NURSYS Verification – Required

Preferred Credentials

• AHA PALS (if assigned to pediatric populations)

Unit Information Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU)

• 4-bed specialty ICU

• Adult and geriatric cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients

• Complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring

• Post-operative cardiac surgical recovery

Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU)

• 8-bed stepdown unit

• Recovery following cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery

• Supported by dedicated cardiovascular educator

Floating Requirement

• Required to float to other units and DCH-affiliated hospitals as needed
