Key qualifications and desired experience:

• Background working or volunteering in classrooms, schools, or youth programs
• Proficiency in basic sign language (advanced skills or interpreting experience not required)
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and adaptability
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• High school diploma or equivalent (relevant coursework or certifications a plus)
• Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality

Primary responsibilities:

• Assist individual students or small groups with classroom assignments and routines
• Communicate basic needs and support learning using sign language as needed
• Reinforce instructional material under the guidance of teachers or special education staff
• Help monitor student progress, behavior, and safety throughout the school day
• Encourage active participation and inclusion for all students
• Support classroom organization and occasionally help supervise activities and transitions
