Come grow with us!We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our team in Hickory, NC!Job Summary:This position oversees the operation of the CNC mill and lathe machines to fabricate precision parts.Duties and Essential Job Responsibilities:Load materials or work pieces into machines after the first part inspection has been completedRemove products or work pieces from machines after the cycle is completeMeasure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications. Compare to blueprint and check sheet dimensions and functional checks. Record results on the item check sheet.Monitor machine operation and control panel displays. Detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibrationMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsMaintain coolant and oil levels in all machinesKeep machines and work area clean and well organizedEmpty machine hoppersConfer with management to resolve machine malfunctions or production errors, or to obtain approval to continue productionPerform operations such as deburring, part washing, grinding, or cutting materialAbility to perform / document tooling offset changesContributes to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as neededOther Skills and Abilities:Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere to obtain common goals and objectivesDemonstrates effective listening skillsAbility to concentrate, and pay close attention to detailStrong safety orientation. Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible mannerAbility to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications provided by engineeringBasic understanding of conventional measuring tools and techniques, to ensure compliance with technical specificationsWorking knowledge of basic machine shop tools and equipmentAbility to power on and operate CNC machines with minimal assistanceRequirements:High School / GEDTwo to five years of related experiencePhysical Requirements:Machine shop work environment: Dust, grease, and metal shavings are common. Significant risks from equipment and the environment require constant care and vigilance. Be able to stand for long periods of time. Lift and hold up to 40 lbs.Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am Sunday-Thursday, with an extended training period on first shift (6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday)Pay Rate: Dependent on experience with a shift differential increase after the employee transitions to third shift.
