About the Role
The Company is in search of its first Chief Operating Officer to take on a pivotal role in providing operational and human resources leadership, financial stewardship, and fundraising oversight. This senior leadership position is designed to strengthen the organization's internal systems and prepare it for a new phase of conservation impact. The COO will be the primary operational leader, with a focus on human resources, finances, fundraising, and communications. They will also be responsible for directly supervising the Development Director and Administrative Manager, leading cross-departmental coordination, and supporting the well-being and performance of staff across the organization. The successful candidate for the Chief Operating Officer role at the company will have a strong background in nonprofit management, with a proven track record in building effective organizational systems and a commitment to maximizing efficiency and impact. A working knowledge of fundraising strategy is essential, as is the emotional intelligence to lead and develop a talented team. The ideal candidate will lead with humility and initiative, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the values of land conservation and community stewardship. This is a full-time, exempt position that requires a dedicated individual who is prepared to be a collaborative and supportive presence for the staff and is willing to engage in occasional travel throughout the region.
