The Medical Assistant will provide essential clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced primary care clinic handling a medium patient volume of 20-40 patients daily. This role involves patient preparation, assisting physicians during examinations, and managing a variety of coordination tasks including appointment scheduling and insurance verification. Candidates with front desk experience and leadership qualities who can thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment are ideal. The position includes alternating weekend shifts, with clear opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations
• Collect and process specimens for testing
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, including insurance verification
• Manage front desk operations with a focus on patient flow and communication
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Demonstrate leadership qualities to support clinic operations

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual Spanish

• 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
• Certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting or related field
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially ECW
• Phlebotomy skills
• Knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, and HIPAA compliance
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities
• Leadership skills in a clinical environment
