Maintenance Technician

Job Description Position Summary It is the responsibility of this role to inspect and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment. Responsibilities and Duties Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment. Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain good housekeeping. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects of production equipment. Perform preventative maintenance in the facility, infrastructure, and equipment. Able to keep records of work completed in work order system and communicate within the department and other departments. Maintains safe, clean, and orderly work areas. Diagnose equipment problems and make repairs and/or replacements of mechanisms such as tie rods, solenoid valves, sprue bushings, nozzle heaters, conveyor belts, drives, low voltage, and high voltage electrical systems. Able to understand and follow food safety requirements per the SQF standard. Qualifications Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. High school diploma or GED equivalency. Training required in one or more major areas of maintenance and/or two years of experience, preferred. Possess functional knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair/maintenance on manufacturing equipment with one year minimum practical application. Possess basic knowledge and ability to use hand tools. Working knowledge of PLC’s required. Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, Outlook. Programming experience preferred.
