Job Details Level: ExperiencedJob Location: Mathews Associates Inc - Sanford, FL 32771Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Associate's Degree or equivalentSalary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: Manufacturing Essential Duties and Responsibilities Regularly participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including, but not limited to attending team meetings, keeping management apprised of any safety or product quality concerns, and staying compliant with policies and procedures in accordance with the Quality Manual. As a QC Tester, you will be at the forefront of our quality assurance processes, meticulously examining products to identify and rectify defects before they reach our customers. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a methodical approach, and a deep understanding of testing methodologies and tools. In the following sections, we will provide a detailed job description that outlines the key responsibilities, essential qualifications, and the valuable skills required for this role. Use personal protective equipment, including but not limited to masks, gloves, and ear plugs when indicated. Follows written and verbal work instructions in English. Examines quality system records to verify if the quality information such as size, weight and voltage of product is in accordance with the product specifications and requirements of customer contract. Handling quality system records in accordance with established procedures. Inspects products to determine compliance with customer specifications, internal quality control systems, and shipping and packaging conformity standards. Inspection of product and packaging labels to verify accuracy and completeness of information in accordance with drawings and/or other specifications, including but not limited to customer purchase orders and government contracts. Uses inspection stamp to indicate approval or rejection of product on data sheets and other forms of records. Operates machines, automated inspection tools, and other tools to perform inspections, including but not limited to pull testers, magnifying glass, gauges, calipers, and digital multimeter. Works at various work stations to perform inspections at different stages during the production and assembly process. Has responsibility to inspect at least an average amount of product, in comparison to coworkers on a daily basis for the specific job assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write simple reports and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, government inspectors, and customers. Ability to accurately proof read product and packaging labels. Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American dimensions, weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as voltage, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or otherwise feel an object; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is required to be able to detect odors to help ensure a safe working environment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal Protective Equipment is readily available and part of everyone’s responsibility to use.
