Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 7 pm - 7 am Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN license (IN or compact) Certifications: BLS through AHA Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of MedSurg experience in a large hospital with over 450 beds. Description: Candidates will care for a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses, including chronic illnesses. The unit manages GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and patients with mental health disorders. Patients may undergo various procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. General nursing duties include assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, and utilization of electronic health records. Skills required include IV therapy management, wound care, and monitoring of various medical equipment. The unit utilizes Epic electronic records, pyxis machines, and telemetry monitoring among other equipment. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 to 1:6. The dress code is Caribbean Blue scrubs. The staff may float to other medical units as needed. Supplemental staff are required to complete a nursing orientation program. Weekend shifts are required, with three weekend shifts in a four-week period.
