About the Position

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 7am - 7pm Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: IN license (or compact license required) Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: - 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience - 1 year of MedSurg experience at a large hospital (450+ beds) Description: The role requires experience in general medical and surgical nursing care. The unit serves a diverse population of patients with various diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, and CHF. It also manages GI issues such as pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and more. Infections such as pneumonia, sepsis, and UTI are also treated. Care for patients with neurological issues like stroke and traumatic brain injuries is required. Patients with mental health disorders, including depression and anxiety, are also part of the caseload. Procedures may include colonoscopies, thora and paracentesis, and biopsies. General job duties include comprehensive assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Familiarity with electronic health records is required, along with IV therapy management. Equipment used includes Epic electronic records, pyxis machines, and telemetry monitoring. The candidate must be willing to float to other medical units as needed. The schedule involves 12-hour shifts, with weekend shifts required. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6. A dress code of Caribbean Blue scrubs is enforced.
