Description: The role involves providing nursing care in a diverse medical surgical unit. Patients may have a variety of diagnoses including chronic illnesses, gastrointestinal issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders. Common procedures include colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. General job duties include assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Utilization of the EHR is required along with proficiency in various medical equipment. Candidates must have experience in a large hospital with over 450 beds. Floating to other medical units may be required based on staffing needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5-6. Documentation is done using an electronic record system. The dress code requires Caribbean Blue scrubs. Candidates must be available for 12-hour shifts and work weekends.
