About the Position

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License (Indiana or compact) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: - 1.5 years of experience in Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care settings - 1 year of experience in a facility with 450 or more beds Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in general medical and surgical nursing care. Candidates must be adept at performing assessments and care planning. Inter-professional communication skills are essential. Utilization of the electronic health record and various medical equipment is required. Candidates will manage IV therapy, wound vacs, and other medical devices. Patients will present with diverse diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, diabetes, and CHF. The RN will also oversee patients with gastrointestinal issues, infections, and neurological disorders. Procedures may include colonoscopies, paracentesis, and minor surgeries. Patient ratios will typically be 1:5-6. The RN will be expected to float to other medical units as needed. The dress code includes wearing Caribbean blue scrubs. Training will include a general orientation and nursing-specific training. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling, including working three weekends in a four-week period.
