Lead Research Peptide Technician

Job Overview The Walensky Laboratory of Cancer Chemical Biology at the Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School is seeking an experienced Lead Research Technician. The role primarily involves the synthesis, analysis, purification, and quantitation of designer peptides under the direction of a principal investigator. Responsibilities Execute and optimize solid‑phase peptide synthesis conditions. Operate and maintain a series of automated peptide synthesizers on a daily basis. Perform reverse‑phase HPLC and analyze peptide products on Agilent LC/MS machines. Develop and carry out analytical methods to quantify peptide products. Interface with lab members and collaborators, maintain the peptide database, and ensure compound quality control and timely delivery. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Minimum two (2) years of experience in an academic or industrial laboratory setting, with small molecule or peptide synthesis experience a plus. Preferred: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Experience with peptide purification and analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, MS). Familiarity with laboratory automation platforms and instrumentation. Experience maintaining SOPs and contributing to process optimization.
