About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience required. Preference for 2 years of experience. License: Valid RN License required. Pending license accepted with estimated time of arrival. Certifications: BLS certification required. Pending certification accepted. Must-Have: Willingness to work with a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Techs. Availability for the first two weeks of the assignment. Ability to float to other Medical/Surgical units as needed. Availability to work every other weekend. Description: This position involves patient care in a 37-bed unit that provides care for a wide variety of patient types. Patients require general medical diagnosis and treatment. Specialties include gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries. Floating to different Medical/Surgical units may occur depending on unit needs. Staffing ratios are typically 1:5-6 for night shifts, with the possibility of expanding to 8 patients with LPN support. Work involves diverse staffing comprised of RNs, LPNs, and Techs. The unit cares for medical patients as well as surgical patients including GI, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and more. All candidates should be prepared to demonstrate flexibility in their role and responsibilities.
