Cardiac Anesthesiologist Opportunity

Opportunity for a cardiac anesthesiologist with a full-service, short-term acute care hospital in East Stroudsburg, PA. The 217-bed Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono (formerly Pocono Medical Center) is a voluntary nonprofit member of the Lehigh Valley Health Network and was the first community hospital in Pennsylvania to receive full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP).

Responsibilities include assisting in the directing and coordinating of activities in the anesthesia department, responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. Pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring of the patient's physiological condition, and performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Requirements include an M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited college of medicine, cardiac skills, ECFMC and FLEX, completion of an approved residency in anesthesia, and currently licensed as a physician.
