Tax Strategist

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports Prepare corporate entity and partnership returns Preparing personal and business income tax returns and statements for audits Prepares, submits, and manages tax statements and returns for businesses and clients Provides advice on financial and tax matters Mentor and guide peers through knowledge transfer and skill development Foster and enhance continuous improvement initiatives Accurately process various forms of financial information and materials, ensuring compliance with relevant reporting requirements Prepare tax statements, financial statements, and BAS statements at required intervals Create and return statements and documents to clients by set deadlines Manage tax administration responsibilities required of assigned accounts include tax code research, tax return preparation, and tax planning Identifying opportunities to minimize tax liability through deductions and credits Engage regularly with clients and maintain strong relationships Stay current with knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulatory and compliance requirements, and tax planning techniques Regularly research financial landscape and market trends Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end analysis of accounts for assigned lines of business Validate the accuracy of data from subsystems Process subsystems or subsidiary interfaces Validate the accuracy and completeness of the interfaced data Perform follow up and resolution of determined issues Provides guidance and assistance to Associate Tax Strategists as needed Requirements Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 2+ years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year of business tax/entity return preparation Working knowledge of GAAP and integrated accounting software/applications Proficiency with bookkeeping, spreadsheets, databases, and other accounting tools/automation Strong communication, client service, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently Ability to interpret and apply complex tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, including completion of required H&R Block tax/accounting assessments or equivalent training.
