Job DescriptionUW Medical Center - 5E Surgical ICU unit has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-time Days- Health Unit Coordinator.WORK SCHEDULEPart-time (80% FTE)Days/ Thursdays 6:30am-3:00pm & Fridays & Saturdays 7:00am- 7:30pmPOSITION HIGHLIGHTSConveniently located near public transportationMake a difference for the patients and employees we serveOpportunity to provide career growthPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBLITIESThrive in a busy, fast-paced environment where multitasking and strong organizational skills are essentialProvide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communicationsRespond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate mannerAssist in maintaining a welcoming and organized unit environment for patients, families, and staffWork closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and dischargesPrepare and compile discharge packets to support timely and safe patient dischargesCoordinate transportation and appropriate paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testingHandle unit paperwork, including patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and other documentationMaintain inventory of supplies and equipment and restock as neededUtilize computer systems such as Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordinationPartner with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care deliveryOther assigned dutiesREQUIREMENTSHigh school graduation or equivalent ANDOne year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experienceORAn equivalent combination of education/experienceEquivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registrationABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKEUW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
