Catering Chef

Role Responsibilities

This role will involve:

• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
• Cooking food in a timely manner
• Ensuring appealing presentation
• Checking freshness of food and discarding out-of-date items
• Experimenting with recipes and suggesting new ingredients
• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Studying each recipe and gathering all necessary ingredients
• Creating prep lists

Qualifications

This person will bring:

• Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
• Knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks.
• Excellent time management abilities
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations and have Food Handlers Card
• Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed.
• This position will/may require travel to various venues in the Northern California region and is therefore considered a 'regional' role with no singular job site.

Time Management Skills

The candidate should have:

• Attention to detail.
• The ability to work under extreme pressure.
• The ability to communicate in a fast-moving environment.
• The ability to take direction and work independently with those directions.

Compensation

The expected compensation for this position is:

$19.20 USD - $24.00 USD Hourly

** Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
