Harness your skills as an ASL Paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment near San Antonio! This full-time, on-site contract position provides a unique chance to support students with hearing loss. You’ll work primarily at a designated middle or high school campus, where your expertise will foster inclusion and facilitate learning. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible and will continue through late May, providing consistency for students and professional stability for you.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an associate degree or higher, OR have at least 48 college semester hours from a recognized institution and have completed a paraeducator course through Stedi.org (with a passing score of 70%+).
• Experience working with children, ideally those with hearing loss, in pediatric or school-based settings.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and adept at supporting children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Satisfy fingerprinting and background check requirements before the start date.

Primary Duties:

• Assist instructional staff and help students access curriculum and activities in classroom and campus settings.
• Provide ASL interpretation and classroom support, adapting your approach to meet individual student needs.
• Contribute actively to a welcoming, inclusive learning atmosphere for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and specialists to promote student growth and well-being.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies at all times.
