Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ growth and independence as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school environment near beautiful Ewa Beach, HI. Collaborate closely with occupational therapists and special education teams to deliver impactful, student-focused therapy services that make a difference daily.
Qualifications:
- Current COTA certification and valid state licensure
- Previous experience working in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing individualized education program (IEP) goals through occupational therapy sessions
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills relevant to the classroom environment
- Document student progress and collaborate with supervising OTs on intervention strategies
- Engage with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure consistent therapy support across school activities
- Help organize and maintain therapy materials and resources
