Shift Lead / Residential Staff Supervisor Key responsibilities include: Assist the Program Administrator (PA) with day‑to‑day oversight of the residence, supervising direct support staff, back‑up leads, and shift personnel to ensure tasks are performed in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Consult with program leadership, clinical staff, community providers and other stakeholders to streamline care and maintain high‑quality services for residents. Directly supervise DSP‑RBTs and back‑up leads during shifts, provide coaching and feedback, and ensure proper completion of training, education and credential documentation. Participate in the hiring process, interview candidates, schedule staffing, approve staffing changes, and manage time‑keeping and Workday entries. Maintain a clean, safe and organized therapeutic environment, managing inventory of food, supplies and medications, and ensuring compliance with insurance and health‑care regulations, including HIPAA. Lead the shift team and facilitate open communication, participatory management, and a harassment‑free workplace. Act as Facility Manager during assigned shifts: conduct emergency drills, plant checks, maintain water‑temperature logs, and coordinate maintenance work orders with the housing developer. Complete all necessary paperwork, incident reports, billing records and data collection, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in all required systems. Coordinate interdisciplinary team meetings, ensuring effective communication with staff, families, regulators, law‑enforcement, and other agencies. Complete driver training and certification for DSP‑RBTs, and manage safe vehicle operation for transportation of residents. Develop and maintain compliance with all state, federal and local regulations, including the California Lanterman Act and Title 17 and 22. Perform any additional duties as assigned, including providing coverage as a Lead RBT/LPT. Minimum Qualifications Minimum age 21 years and a high school diploma (or equivalent). Minimum of 1 year of direct care experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behavior. Minimum of 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a related field. Completion of California Direct Support Professional Training (DSPT) Year 1 and Year 2 courses. Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) obtained within 60 days of appointment (unless qualified as an LPT or Qualified Behavior Modification Professional). Certification as either a Group Home Administrator or an Adult Residential Facility Administrator within 15 months of employment. Valid California driver’s license. Familiarity with the California Lanterman Act and Titles 17 and 22 regulations. Successful completion of Facility Manager Training within 30 days of appointment. Completion of the Residential Services Orientation through the program’s Regional Center. CPR/First Aid, Ukeru and CPI certifications, and annual recertification. Completion of annual continuing education units (CEUs) for professional development as required by Titles 17 & 22. Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, and ability to quickly learn electronic systems such as Workday and electronic medical record systems. Physical ability to perform frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, stretching, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and other tasks required by the role. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a human services field. Current Group Home or Adult Residential Facility Administrator Certificate issued by the State of California. Previous experience providing direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Supervisory experience in a residential or crisis setting.
