Consumer Credit Review Senior Manager

The Consumer Credit Review Senior Manager is part of the Consumer Credit Review team and is responsible for conducting independent, risk-based assurance work within Capital One’s consumer credit portfolios (card, auto and unsecured loans). This includes assessing credit strategies and practices across first line LOBs and credit programs and performing credit data analytics to identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of credit strategies and enhance credit governance. The Senior Manager will also contribute towards the development and execution of the annual Credit Review operating plan. In addition, the senior manager will also perform assurance work and provide effective challenge to the second line’s key functions and oversight in credit governance. Further, this Associate will be responsible for building and maintaining working relationships with line‑of‑business management and key associates within the risk‑management organization. Responsibilities Conduct risk‑based reviews covering consumer line(s) of businesses Identify credit process weaknesses Identify emerging trends and issues Perform independent data analysis to identify gaps in credit policies and credit strategies Track identified issues to resolution Communicate Credit Review assurance results with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating strong clear thinking and succinct delivery of message Report results and issues verbally and in writing to executive management and internal credit and risk senior executives Work with regulators and external auditors to provide assurance that Credit Review processes are sound Build and maintain high‑trust relationships with credit risk executives, associates, and regulators Act as an approachable advisor to business partners by developing continuous and effective communication channels for all stakeholders Show ability to provide business leadership and partnering skills to help drive the organization toward critical decisions and deliverable results Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or military experience At least 7 years of experience in consumer lending, credit risk policy or risk analytics in credit card loans or auto loans At least 7 years of data analysis experience At least 5 years of experience with influencing senior‑level executives or regulators Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree Consumer credit training from a large national or regional bank or equivalent training in a regulatory office (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve) Credit risk modeling, audit or assurance experience Salary Charlotte, NC: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager Chicago, IL: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Credit Review Manager New York, NY: $219,000 - $249,900 for Sr. Credit Review Manager Wilmington, DE: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Credit Review Manager Candidates hired in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
