Engineer II - Supply Chain Warehousing

As an Engineer II Supply Chain Warehousing youll help build and support the applications and services that power Best Buys supply chain and warehouse operations. Youll work closely with engineers product partners and cross-functional teams to design develop test and enhance cloud-based solutions that support critical business processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems learning new technologies and contributing across multiple areas of the software development lifecycle. Youll have opportunities to influence technical decisions leverage AI-enabled development tools and help drive continuous improvement across the team.

This role is hybrid which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What youll do

• Design develop test deploy and support Java Spring Boot microservices running in AWS and ReactJS applications that power Best Buys supply chain and warehouse operations
• Collaborate with engineers product managers and business partners to deliver scalable reliable applications and services
• Participate in architecture discussions code reviews troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance and maintainability
• Leverage modern engineering practices cloud technologies and AI-assisted development tools to improve team productivity and solution quality
• Contribute to a collaborative high-performing engineering culture through knowledge sharing peer support and continuous learning

Basic qualifications

• 4 years of relevant enterprise software engineering experience building and supporting scalable applications
• Experience developing applications using Java Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
• Experience working with cloud-based applications or services in AWS Azure GCP or similar cloud environments
• Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science Engineering or related field OR equivalent relevant professional experience
• Experience using or willingness to adopt AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot Microsoft Copilot or similar technologies

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with ReactJS or other modern front-end frameworks
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases
• Experience developing cloud-native applications in AWS
• Experience working in Agile development environments and CI/CD practices
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise retail supply chain warehousing or logistics applications
