The Regional Internal Coordinator will support Contract Organizers in contract campaigns, contract enforcement, and overall contract implementation across multiple worksites. The position will oversee the enforcement and administration of collective bargaining agreements while helping to develop and coordinate local direct-action campaigns aimed at strengthening member engagement and preparing for future contract negotiations. The Regional Internal Coordinator will work collaboratively with multiple departments, including research, legal, political, and communications, to support strategic campaign objectives. The position will also supervise Contract Organizers on designated campaigns, projects, and worksite initiatives.

• Develop plans with member leaders to implement Doctors Council’s national agenda
• Design, implement and supervise the execution of strategic plans to address workplace issues and other matters
• Develop strategic goals for team members, proactively identify needs of the organization, respond with solutions and implement effective changes.
• Responsible for leadership development, membership growth and engagement.
• Ensure collective bargaining agreements are enforced and implemented at assigned chapters.
• Work in collaboration with other department heads, field directors and member leads to execute field plans and achieve organizational goals
• Guide the implementation of field plans in support of collective bargaining and participate in negotiations, as needed.
• Develop strategic relationships within assigned hospitals and the community.
• Provide written communications and reports to members, union leaders, executive committee and Doctors Council staff as needed.
• Supervise, develop and give timely evaluations to staff to ensure they are achieving local, statewide and national goals.
• Work with the political team to develop and implement a regional COPE plan.
• Provide coaching and mentorship for direct reports, conduct regular evaluation, and create staff development plans.
• Oversee the engagement of members on hospital and Doctors Council issues, and support organizers with contract organizing and membership growth campaigns.
• Assist in new organizing and political campaigns in the area
• Track and maintain accurate records and databases.
• Ability to quickly learn hospital operations and finance, and relevant economic and political issues.
• Familiarity with labor laws (in local jurisdictions), libel/free speech laws, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, mediation and arbitration processes.
• Appropriately manage conflict, disagreements and adversarial situations among staff
• Strong planning and time management skills, ability to prioritize and develop work plans independently with minimal supervision including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
• Demonstrate ability to develop relationships with community allies, elected officials and hospital administrators in support of contract organizing campaigns.
• Inclusive leader who engages initiative and innovation, and is able to effectively involve the team in planning and decision - making
• Possess strong listening, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Eight years or more of organizing experience in the labor movement required.
• At least 2 years of experience leading or managing/ supervising staff preferred
• Must be able to lead and manage in a manner consistent with the values of the labor movement, while demonstrating a commitment to continuous growth, development, and improvement.
• Healthcare organizing experience in both public and private sectors is preferred but not required
• Ability to support, model, and coach staff through honest, clear, and timely feedback, while fostering the professional development and growth of others through both formal and informal learning opportunities.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours
• Technologically proficient in google products such as gmail, google suites(docs, sheets, slides and drive), willingness to learn new technology to make hybrid organizing work effective.
• Must reside in New York area, Some travel is required
• Bachelor’s degree advanced degree in labor relations or related fields preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
Total compensation may vary depending on factors such as work experience, market conditions, education, training and skill level. Salary range; $115,000 – $120,000.
