About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Operational Accounting Lead to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the general ledger balances and related accounting across all legal entities and reporting bases. This role involves strategic implementations, AI-enabled process improvements, and leading a team of accountants. The VP will be responsible for maintaining and refining the general ledger structure, leading legal entity accounting, consolidation, and intercompany processes, and overseeing various financial activities including FX translations, cash flow statements, and related-party accounting. The position also requires the development and maintenance of robust control procedures, supporting evolving business needs, and driving the execution of reconciliations and related controls. Applicants for the VP, Operational Accounting Lead position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA or CA preferred. A minimum of 10 years' financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of life and annuity (re)insurance industry accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance, as well as strong knowledge of US GAAP, STAT, SFS, and EBS accounting rules. Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and AI tools is essential, along with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The role demands a strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities, a high level of integrity, and strong analytical skills. Experience in audits, control enhancement, and a proven track record as a change agent with automation, AI, and systems implementation is also preferred.
