Lab Technician - Compression Engineering

Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Lab Technician Compression Engineering to support compressor performance testing and R&D laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with HVAC, air conditioning, or refrigeration systems and strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot compressor performance and test stands ranging from 1 to 1,500 tons .

Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical work for R&D test setups.

Work with industrial wiring, hydronic systems, AC motors, controls, and instrumentation.

Support testing involving single- and three-phase electrical power systems, VFDs, PLCs, PID controls , and electrical test equipment.

Perform brazing of large piping and assist with test setup using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.

Operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts, as required.

Maintain safe, organized laboratory and test environments.

Document test activities, results, and equipment conditions using standard PC and Microsoft Office tools.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering/technical field.

2+ years of experience with HVAC, air conditioning, refrigeration, or related systems.

Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.

Knowledge of electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and test equipment.

Ability to work with high-capacity compressor test equipment and laboratory systems.

Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office .
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with LabVIEW .

Universal EPA Section 608 certification .

Experience with PLCs, VFDs, PID controls, and laboratory data acquisition systems.

Experience with brazing, overhead cranes, rigging, and forklift operation.
Compensation: $37/hour TPC, with flexibility for strong candidates based on experience and qualifications.
