We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to provide hands-on financial support for a global trading company in New York, New York. This Contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to daily treasury and accounting operations by helping maintain accurate cash reporting, supporting transaction processing, and assisting with core reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with banking activity, accounting records, and time-sensitive financial tasks.

Responsibilities:
• Track daily cash balances across accounts and prepare regular reporting to support visibility into overall liquidity.
• Review same-day banking activity and document movements to help maintain accurate records of cash transactions.
• Reconcile prior-day cash activity by comparing bank data with internal accounting information and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of foreign exchange transactions related to external payment needs for leadership review.
• Support bank-to-bank and intercompany fund movements by compiling transaction details and coordinating documentation.
• Record accounting entries tied to cash activity and help maintain accuracy within the general ledger.
• Contribute to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliation tasks as needed within the accounting team.
• Partner with treasury and finance stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and dependable execution of daily operational processes.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent entry-level accounting experience.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and daily cash activity tracking.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes and preparation of basic accounting entries.
• Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing support in a structured work environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard accounting or financial systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
