Shear Wave Level II Inspector

Shear Wave Level II Inspector US-RI-North Kingstown
This position is for Level II UT Shear Wave Inspectors. Inspectors will be required to perform UT volumetric inspection duties in the various areas throughout the facility.
Candidates will be required to be trained in the Quality Assurance systems, procedures, policies, and specifications and will perform ultrasonic inspection on welds, parts, components in various areas including on the hull sections. This will include structural and piping. Types of inspections may also include visual, dimensional and other nondestructive test attributes. Inspectors will also be required to verify and certify work is complete and satisfactory according to specifications and record and report inspection results.
The successful candidate must be able to work all shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Responsibilities
- Must possess basic mathematical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals
- Applicant must be able to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams and understand basic layout functions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic note taking
- Adaptability to switch from one job to another as business needs dictate
- Ability to communicate effectively with their management team and peers
- Must maintain a positive attitude and proactively attend to issues and concerns
- Attention to detail must be held at an extremely high level
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma/GED
- Current or previous certification (within last 2 years) as Level II UT Shear Wave.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
Preferred:
- Education in Vocational, Technical, Community College, or Apprentice programs
- 1+ years of previous shipyard or similar manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of shipboard assemblies, installations and foundations
- Military/Navy experience
- Previous NDT schooling/training is a plus
- Previous NDT Methods MT, PT, ET.
