Overview Cardiology Monitor Tech – Specialty Electrophysiology Cardiac Study Center / Pulse Heart Institute, Puyallup, WA Cardiac Study Center (CSC) contracts with Pulse Heart Institute (Pulse) for outpatient cardiology and billing services. CSC is a partner of Pulse and has provided outpatient cardiology services for over 50 years. Pulse operates cardiology ambulatory and billing support staff to support cardiac programs. Environment and Shift This role is full-time, 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday. Weekends and holidays are off. Required Qualifications We seek an individual with experience in device technology, monitor/telemetry, or Holter scanning, with a strong foundation in ECG interpretation. The ideal candidate possesses robust cardiac rhythm recognition abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills. Essential skills include proficiency in Holter/event monitor scanning, data analysis, editing, and report preparation for cardiologist review. High School Diploma or GED, with at least six months of relevant experience or training. Must demonstrate basic and advanced ECG recognition skills. Prior device tech, monitor, or telemetry tech training is necessary. Certification as a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) is preferred within two years of hire, plus current CPR/BLS certification. Position Summary As a Monitor Technician in the Heart Rhythm/Device Department, you will work with the team lead and manager to ensure efficient patient flow for holter and event monitoring services. Your role includes technical and administrative support, performing ECGs and holter/event monitor setups, and preparing reports for provider review. You will identify cardiac dysrhythmias, conduct monitor scanning, and contribute to patient care and clinic operations. Cardiology Monitor Tech Responsibilities Operate as a monitor technician for device monitoring tasks under supervision. Attach patients to Holter/Event Monitors and provide usage instructions. Monitor alerts from various cardiac monitors and notify medical staff of abnormalities. Scan and review monitor downloads for irregularities and create reports for providers. Document all patient interactions and relevant data in the EMR system. Assist with the billing process for monitoring services. Manage monitor equipment inventory, maintenance, and staff training on device usage. Support multiple clinic locations as needed and participate in educational programs. The starting pay for this position is $24.06 per hour, with a pay range of $24.06–$38.82 per hour. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, experience, certifications, and education.
