Our client is one of the largest investment firms globally and is looking to add to its Life Sciences team focused on biotech and therapeutics across both private and public markets. The team invests out of a larger pool of capital with the ability to deploy 9 figures annually and currently consists of 6 investment professionals. They're open to hiring at the Associate, Senior Associate, or Vice President level.

Based in New York City, the team has led investments in a number of high profile companies and operates with a flexible mandate spanning venture, crossover, and public market investing. The culture is highly scientific and clinically driven, and they're looking for someone who shares that approach.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Source, evaluate, and recommend investment opportunities across biotech and therapeutics
\n
• Develop and own thematic areas of focus within the sector
\n
• Conduct scientific and clinical diligence, integrating preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial data into investment decisions
\n
• Build and present investment theses to senior leadership and the Investment Committee
\n
• Work across the full investment lifecycle from sourcing and diligence through execution and portfolio management
\n
• Engage with scientific advisors, KOLs, management teams, and commercial consultants
\n
• Monitor portfolio companies and contribute to value creation efforts
\n
• Leverage industry and clinical networks to generate proprietary insights and deal flow
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• MD or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
\n
• 2 to 5 years of post graduate experience, including at least 2 years in life sciences investing, consulting, equity research, investment banking, or a relevant operating role
\n
• Strong understanding of drug development and regulatory pathways
\n
• Ability to synthesize complex scientific, clinical, and commercial information into investment recommendations
\n
• Strong financial modeling skills and investment mindset
\n
• Passion for scientific literature, conferences, and emerging innovation
\n
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence
\n
• Self starter with strong ownership, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
