Property Tax Manager – PRINCIPAL PROPERTY APPRAISER (BOARD OF EQUALIZATION) Salary: $9,635.00 – $10,941.00 per month. Responsibilities Plan, administer, and direct the Assessment Practices Survey Program under the supervision of the Chief of the Assessment Practices Survey Division. Lead qualitative compliance audits of assessment procedures and practices of the 58 County Assessors. Conduct quantitative audits using defensible, statistical sampling of representative assessments from the property tax rolls. Prepare final audit reports that identify assessment problems and make recommendations for improvements. Qualifications Valid California Driver’s License. Board of Equalization (BOE) Appraiser Certificate (including continued education). Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent applications. Experience applying property tax laws, rules, and practices. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to audit findings. Demonstrated leadership and management skills to motivate staff and complete multiple projects.
