Assists in merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses. Provides assistance to members by answering questions and recommending products. Maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the meat department. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Provide assistance to members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood, and making recommendations when necessary. Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds. Assist the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood, may grind hamburger meat. Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring all delivered meat meets company quality standards. Ensure meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked and rotate products according to expiration dates. Follow guidelines for disposing of damaged or expired products. Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer. Clean and sanitize all equipment and display fixtures, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases. Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. Maintain regular, predictable full attendance. Qualifications Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred. Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred. Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred. At least 18 years of age. Weekends must be open availability and are mandatory. Environmental Job Conditions Spend most of the time moving frequently on hard surfaces. Occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping. Frequently lift objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting and moving heavy objects over 30 pounds with assistance. Work in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
