Records Manager (Administrator IV) - Office of Professional Standards.

Overview Department: Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) – Office of Professional Standards, Lakewood Office/Remote. The role is responsible for managing the operations and functions of the Records Unit, overseeing Police records and automated information systems, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and security standards for the Criminal Justice Information System data. Job Duties Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with CBI and FBI requirements and reporting schedules. Stay informed about laws, rules and regulations governing law‑enforcement crime reporting; provide guidance and training to staff. Facilitate safe transfer of data and case files to Colorado District Attorneys for case management and discovery. Oversee the record‑keeping program, making decisions on system requirements based on CBI and FBI reporting needs while ensuring system integrity and security. Collaborate with the Colorado Open Records Attorney and agency divisions to gather and release information in compliance with applicable laws and policies. Direct evidence management across the department; coordinate with Agents in Charge, evidence technicians and division directors to keep evidence stored per policy. Assist with internal audits of the evidence program, ensuring compliance with agency procedures and policy updates. Foster communication with partner agencies to improve collaboration and information sharing related to evidence and records management. Minimum Qualifications Seven (7) years of official records‑management experience that required applying federal or state law to records‑management practices, or a combination of related education (criminal justice, mathematics, statistics, legal, information management, business administration) plus seven (7) years of experience in a law‑enforcement or related records‑management role. Special Qualifications Successful completion of a background investigation and a tax check prior to appointment. Valid Colorado Driver's License at the time of application. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Colorado statutes and regulatory environment. Demonstrated NIBRS reporting and compliance experience. Knowledge of local, state and federal data‑handling, privacy and records‑retention law. Records‑management experience and preferred certification in that field. Experience with digital evidence management in the Axon evidence.com environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in data reporting, advising senior management and determining systems, guidelines and programs. Success in organizing and tracking workload; ability to work independently in a remote environment. Proficiency in Google Suite.
