Project Manager - Mining Asset Development

Our client is advancing a portfolio of mining assets across the Western United States and is seeking a Project Manager to lead asset development from early-stage exploration through advanced engineering and feasibility study phases. This is a high-visibility role operating in an owner’s representative capacity, responsible for integrating technical programs, managing consultants, and maintaining disciplined cost and schedule control across multiple concurrent projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role ensuring engineering studies, permitting pathways, and field programs remain aligned with development milestones and investment objectives. What You’ll Do Asset Advancement: Lead mining assets through exploration, baseline programs, and engineering study phases including PEA, PFS, and FS. Ensure technical programs remain aligned with defined project milestones and long‑term development strategy. Consultant & Contractor Management: Oversee multidisciplinary teams across geology, hydrogeology, geotechnical, mining engineering, environmental, and infrastructure disciplines. Review scopes of work, technical deliverables, and study outputs to ensure quality, defensibility, and alignment with project goals. Schedule & Cost Control: Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and cost tracking systems. Monitor progress against budgets and timelines, identify risks early, and implement corrective actions to maintain disciplined project execution. Field Program Oversight: Provide high-level coordination of drilling, environmental baseline work, geotechnical investigations, hydrologic studies, and infrastructure programs. Participate in site visits, technical reviews, and coordination meetings as needed. Permitting Integration: Ensure permitting strategies and regulatory pathways remain aligned with engineering studies and project advancement timelines. Coordinate with federal and state regulatory agencies throughout development. Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Prepare clear, structured reporting on project status, risks, budgets, and key decision points. Present updates to senior leadership and stakeholders to support investment decisions and project advancement. What You’ll Bring Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline Minimum 8 years of experience in mining project development, engineering consulting, or owner’s team roles Demonstrated experience supporting or managing projects at the PFS and FS study level Strong understanding of mining project development workflows from exploration through engineering studies Experience managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary technical teams Strong project management skills, including cost control, schedule management, and risk mitigation Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical work into clear executive-level summaries Preferred Experience working on mining projects in Nevada or other Western U.S. jurisdictions Working knowledge of open pit and/or underground mining methods Familiarity with hydrogeologic, geotechnical, environmental, and infrastructure components of mining studies Experience supporting owner’s teams or operating in an owner’s representative capacity Location This position is based in Reno, Nevada, with hybrid flexibility. Candidates must reside locally or be willing to relocate. Periodic travel to project sites across Nevada and the Western United States is required.
