Floating may be required based on facility needs. This position involves 3 shifts of 12 hours each. There will be no blocked scheduling. Consideration for 4x12 shifts may be available. The nurse will be required to work every other weekend and every other holiday. The role requires proficiency in managing telemetry patients. Traveling nurses must achieve a minimum score of 80% on a telemetry assessment during orientation. The assessment includes identification of heart blocks, various arrhythmias, and paced rhythms. Understanding of normal interval durations on telemetry strips is essential. Appropriate clinical interventions in response to arrhythmias are necessary. Nurses will independently measure telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms for all telemetry patients under their care. Team nursing staffing includes a care team of an RN, LPN, and PCA. All time off requests must be included in the initial application. First-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Travel pairs can be considered, but scheduling issues have occurred in the past. Previous employees cannot be considered for traveler positions. Return travelers are eligible to return as long as they are in good standing.
