Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Telemetry RN to provide specialized cardiac care on a newly established Cardiac Progressive Stepdown unit. The role involves monitoring and managing post-procedure cardiac patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition using telemetry equipment.
• Administer and titrate IV medications such as heparin, insulin, and other cardiac drugs according to protocols.
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in Meditech electronic system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update patient care plans.
• Respond promptly to abnormal cardiac rhythms or patient emergencies, implementing appropriate interventions.
• Adhere to hospital policies, unit-specific guidelines, and safety standards to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 1 year of recent telemetry or cardiac unit experience.
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and management of complex cardiac patients.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of Meditech documentation system is preferred.
• Successfully completed basic or advanced cardiac care training certification is a plus.
