Purpose:

The Member Solutions Specialist is responsible for collecting delinquent accounts including consumer loans, mortgages, credit cards, and negative deposit accounts by identifying options and pursuing alternative arrangements to reduce the risk and minimize losses to the credit union. The Member Solutions Specialist will demonstrate strong self-management and time management abilities while working closely with the Member Solutions Department and other Prospera Credit Union departments and employees in a collaborative, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment. This position will primarily be contacting delinquent accounts by telephone, but occasionally through written communication and face to face interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collections: 60%
  • Contact early delinquent accounts by telephone, mail, and email.
  • Complete accurate documentation and tracking of all collection activity.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and follow-up if payment is missed.
  • Research accounts to verify accuracy and pursue any corrections.
• Member Solutions Administrative Accountabilities: 30%
  • Processing the Right to Cure's.
  • Balance assigned G/L's.
  • Create and deliver adverse action and collection letters.
  • Process tax levies within compliance timelines.
  • Prepare and submit Legals to Attorney.
  • Participate in the monthly Allowance for Loan Loss Review process.
• Technology: 5%
  • Become familiar with the Member Solutions Department Software as well as other software needed to perform the job on a daily basis.
• Other duties as assigned: 5%

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in outbound call center setting may be helpful to meet the demands of high-volume call responsibilities.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Some background in financial services may be helpful.
• Knowledge of the WCA, FDCPA, and FCRA is a plus.
• Experience working on the computer, within systems and within Microsoft Office is required.
