Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing care to patients in Med/Surg and EICU across the shift, following the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate.
- Monitor patient status, including vitals, labs, and treatments; administer medications (including IV therapy) with emphasis on safety and accuracy.
- Develop and document individualized plans of care; initiate patient education and coordinate discharge planning with patients and families.
- Collaborate with the health care team, delegate appropriately, and maintain a safe, infection-controlled environment; respond to changes in patient condition and life-threatening events per policy.
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation in the EMR, verify physician orders, and ensure proper handling of specimens and adherence to universal precautions.
- Adapt to varying unit assignments and patient needs, providing consistent communication with patients, families, and team members.

Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
- Education: Two-year nursing degree required; BSN preferred
- Certifications: BLS required or obtained within 1 month of hire; ACLS required or obtained within 6 months
- Experience: Relevant clinical experience in Med/Surg and EICU preferred; ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize effectively
- Skills: Excellent clinical and problem-solving abilities; intermediate computer proficiency; strong communication and de-escalation skills

Education
- Two-year RN degree required; BSN preferred
