Work Environment

This position is offered in an onsite home care setting, allowing for direct interactions with children and their families in a familiar environment. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

You will play an essential role in assessing and treating pediatric patients, tending to both acute and chronic health concerns. Your specific responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough physical examinations—both complete and focused—tailored to each child's needs.
• Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests to develop informed treatment plans.
• Referring patients to specialized services, such as youth counseling, nutritional guidance, or physical therapy, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
• Developing in-school management plans as appropriate, enhancing collaboration with educational staff.
• Offering dietary and health promotion recommendations within your scope of practice, empowering families to make informed choices.
• Participating in patient education initiatives that focus on preventive care and wellness.
• Documenting all patient interactions and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on providing healthcare to pediatric patients, including infants, children, and adolescents. You will address a spectrum of health concerns ranging from routine well-child visits to more complex cases that require chronic disease management. A major aspect of this role will involve establishing trusting relationships with patients and their families, helping them navigate their healthcare journeys.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a focus on pediatrics.
• An advanced degree in nursing (Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice).
• A valid and current RN and NP licensure in the State of Maryland.
• Certification through relevant credentialing bodies such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable for inpatient privileges).

Compensation and Benefits
