Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities will involve a range of clinical tasks aimed at providing optimal care for our patients. Specific duties include:

• Thoroughly assessing patient health by recording detailed medical histories and symptoms during consultations.
• Performing comprehensive physical examinations to ascertain the health status of each patient.
• Developing and implementing individualized patient care plans based on assessment findings and parental input.
• Ordering and interpreting a variety of diagnostic tests, including blood work and imaging when necessary.
• Diagnosing common pediatric illnesses and acute conditions, providing appropriate treatment as per clinical guidelines.
• Administering medications and therapies, while closely monitoring patients’ responses and adjusting treatments accordingly.
• Educating parents on child health issues, preventative care, and treatment plans to foster a collaborative healthcare environment.
• Engaging in interdisciplinary consultations with other healthcare providers to enhance care coordination and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your patient demographic will predominantly include children from birth to young adulthood, which may range from routine check-ups and vaccinations to the management of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies. Your expertise in pediatric primary care will be vital in addressing parent concerns and optimizing patient health through effective preventive services and health education.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or equivalent qualification.
• Active and unrestricted Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license in the state of Maryland.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Strong foundation in pediatric nursing, with familiarity in both acute care and chronic disease management.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time contract position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $100 to $116, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
