Position Overview

Biotech Advance Medical Center, located in the vibrant community of Waldorf, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team. Work Environment

The Family Nurse Practitioner role is primarily onsite at our assisted living facility in Waldorf, Maryland, a locale known for its commitment to community health. The work schedule consists of standard hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional evening clinics until 8:00 p.m. to accommodate patient needs. In addition, participation in weekend community outreach events and health fairs will be expected to enhance our visibility and strengthen community ties. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments and screenings for patients, particularly residents within the assisted living facility, identifying needs and creating care plans.
• Diagnose and manage a spectrum of acute and chronic conditions, offering preventive care and health promotion tailored to individual patient needs.
• Foster collaboration with community stakeholders to develop educational initiatives that inform patients about health and wellness.
• Provide culturally sensitive healthcare, advocating actively for patient rights and striving to eliminate barriers to access.
• Coordinate and streamline referrals and follow-up care to ensure a seamless continuum of health services for our patients.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical documentation compliant with healthcare regulations, ensuring quality care delivery.
• Engage in community events and health fairs, contributing to health screening efforts and public health education.
• Stay informed about current community health trends, evidence-based practices, and health policies relevant to the underserved populations we serve.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve individuals residing in an assisted living facility, many of whom may have complex health challenges and require compassionate, individualized attention. The focus will be on creating a nurturing environment that supports the health of elderly patients, addressing both their medical conditions and emotional well-being. As a crucial member of our healthcare team, you will ensure that patients receive personalized care that empowers them and respects their healthcare choices.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on family practice.
• Active nursing license in the state of Maryland.
• A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, ensuring a strong foundation in clinical knowledge.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clinical settings, ideally within community health or public health contexts.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• A strong commitment to social justice, health equity, and advocacy for vulnerable communities is essential.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in assisted living or similar environments is preferred, as it will enhance your ability to respond to the unique needs of this patient population.

Compensation and Benefits

Biotech Advance Medical Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 180,000 – 200,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
