Work Environment

This role is based onsite at a local school setting, providing a unique opportunity to engage directly with children, families, and educators. The full-time position typically involves approximately 40 hours of work per week, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the availability for occasional evening clinics until 8:00 p.m. Participation in weekend community outreach events or health fairs may also be required, allowing you to expand your impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments and screenings for individuals and families, utilizing advanced diagnostic reasoning.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions, emphasizing preventive care and education.
• Collaborate with local community organizations to develop and implement health education programs that address specific health concerns.
• Deliver culturally sensitive care that respects patients' backgrounds while advocating for their rights and healthcare access.
• Coordinate referrals and facilitate follow-up care effectively to ensure continuity of care for patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to all regulatory standards and best practices.
• Actively participate in community outreach events and health fairs to promote health awareness and provide essential screenings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will predominantly work with underserved populations, including children and families in the school environment. This role requires a deep understanding of the specific health challenges faced by these groups, including but not limited to chronic conditions, behavioral health issues, and preventive health needs. Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification and an active state nursing license in Maryland.
• A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in community health or public health settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pediatric or geriatric care is a plus, given the variety of patients you will encounter.

Compensation and Benefits
