Food Safety Program Manager – Chewy, Phoenix, AZ Chewy is seeking a Food Safety Program Manager . This role supports the development, adherence, and improvement of food safety policies, training, and procedures across our fulfillment network. Responsibilities Support the continued growth of the fulfillment network. Partner with Site Operations, Inventory Control, Learning, Quality, and Facility teams to manage network food safety programs. Provide technical leadership on pest control, sanitation, good distribution practices, temperature control, and other facets of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Perform risk assessments and provide guidance on corrective measures. Supervise food safety programs across 4–5 fulfillment centers. Audit fulfillment centers on a regular cadence and provide direct feedback to site leadership on findings. Initiate and propose the closure of corrective actions taken. Provide input for preventive and corrective actions. Develop, implement, and coordinate training for food safety initiatives, policies, and procedures. Work closely with Quality and Supply Chain to mitigate negative customer feedback. Provide technical mentorship on pest exclusion, sanitation, temperature control, and good distribution practices. Evaluate equipment and activities around the FC network against risk assessments and internal policies. Track, trend, and analyze data to investigate pest control findings, customer complaints, and implement strategies to improve programs and policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Safety, Food Science, Environmental Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum of 5+ years managing food safety programs in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing settings. Qualified individual by FDA definition with comprehensive experience of FDA regulations (21 CFR 502, 117, and 1) and ability to apply them. Proficiency in risk assessment, hazard analysis of commodity types and processes, and verification of record data. Experience with data collection and management software (Excel, Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, etc.). Strong communication, partnership, analytical, judgment, customer and vendor focus skills. Ability to work optimally and efficiently under pressure while leading extensive demands and tight targets. Experience leading change in multiple site environments. Willingness to travel up to 50%.
