Job Title Survivor Advocacy Program Director Job Status Full-time, partially grant-supported Job Summary The primary functions of the Survivor Advocacy Program Director are to provide leadership & oversight for Unbound Now’s Survivor Advocacy Program across all Texas and Louisiana working in partnership with Regional Directors (RDs) and Director of Survivor Advocacy (DSAs) to ensure compliance with Unbound Now policies & procedures, effective training for advocacy staff & volunteers including in the area of wellness and self-care, & excellence in service delivery; develop and maintain strong relationships with statewide partners; support development of survivor advocacy services in new areas; ensure timely & accurate programmatic reporting for grants & other purposes; serve as the administrator for the Survivor Advocacy Program on Unbound Now’s case management system; & present on Unbound Now’s Survivor Advocacy Program and services as needed. Dental & Vision: Comprehensive plans available at the employee’s expense. Availability Generally, Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00. Weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Anticipated 45- 50-hour workweek. Travel This position requires significant travel among Unbound Now offices. This position requires frequent travel within the area for partner meetings, training, and team/professional development opportunities, as well as occasional travel outside the service area for training purposes. Working Conditions Some work is performed in a normal office environment, a service-provider environment, or another professional environment. Some work within the community, in high-vulnerability locations. Job Responsibilities Maintain a strong line of communication with the Chief Program Officer (CPO) regarding any issues related to Unbound Now’s Survivor Advocacy Program. Facilitate and lead periodic gatherings of all Unbound Now survivor advocacy staff, in partnership with each Regional Director (RD) and Director of Survivor Advocacy (DSA) of each location. Present on Unbound Now’s survivor advocacy services as requested. Visit all Unbound Now survivor advocacy service areas periodically to provide leadership and support, and build relationships with RDs and DSAs and their advocacy teams Serve as the administrator for the Survivor Advocacy Program on Unbound Now’s case management system, adding and subtracting survivor advocacy users as needed and coordinating with RDs and DSAs to ensure needed updates are made promptly, and reports continue to run smoothly and are updated as needed based on changes to the software or funding sources Ensure implementation and monitor compliance with Unbound Now policies and procedures, DCFS and DFPS‑specific requirements, and Louisiana and Texas OOG CSTT Minimum Standards for CSEY Advocacy. Review, revise, and develop new advocacy‑related policies and procedures in coordination with the CPO and RDs and DSAs Develop and maintain good working relationships with essential statewide partners, such as the Texas Office of the Governor’s Child Sex Trafficking Team and the Louisiana Governor’s Office, statewide child protective services in Texas and Louisiana, and state attorneys general’s offices, serving as the Unbound Now primary liaison with these agencies and the point of contact for MOU and contract development and updates, in coordination with the CPO Attend and participate in statewide calls related to survivor advocacy Support the development of survivor advocacy services in new areas, working closely with new RDs, DSAs, as well as other Unbound Now teams to ensure they are well‑trained and supported in developing services in their region Support RDs and DSAs in recruiting, screening, engaging, supervising, and retaining advocates. Support RDs and DSAs in ensuring that all required trainings for advocates and volunteers are up-to-date and completed, including all onboarding and ongoing trainings listed in the Texas DFPS MOU and the Governor’s Child Sex Trafficking Team minimum standards and best practices. Facilitate regularly scheduled calls with RDs and DSAs to coordinate on advocacy‑related projects, seek input, and provide support and coaching Provide training and support for RDs and DSAs in the implementation of the OHTS tool and analyze data by location and for Unbound Now survivor advocacy as a whole, providing coaching and support to improve results when needed Develop the Unbound Now Survivor Advocacy Program budget in collaboration with each region's Regional Directors, Director Survivor Advocacy, and Chief Program Officer, ensuring adherence to budget, requesting adjustments as needed. Regularly review local and organizational advocacy budgets to ensure we are using resources according to the grant. Work with DSAs and RDs to ensure they understand their local budget and what is grant‑allocable. Provide training as needed. Support RDs and DSAs in developing local survivor advocacy budgets and adhering to shared spending protocols Support RDs and DSAs in seeking and reviewing feedback from local partners, and provide coaching and support based on feedback results Seek and review feedback from statewide partners - both informally and formally through surveys, and coordinate with RDs and DSAs in making improvements based on feedback received Review and compile client survey results by location and for Unbound Now as a whole; provide coaching and support as needed based on survey results Review all Survivor Advocacy Program incidents and responses, ensuring appropriate response and documentation Review all Survivor Advocacy Program grievance reports, ensuring appropriate response and documentation Oversee abuse prevention and response efforts to mitigate the risk of abuse within Unbound Now’s Survivor Advocacy Program and ensure proper reporting Support RDs and DSAs in responding appropriately to allegations of abuse, including youth-to-youth sexual activity Take allegations seriously Respond immediately - if there is a reason to believe behavior is abusive, report to authorities Report to the CPO immediately Collect information, as appropriate Develop and document the response and corrective action Determine and meet the needs of the alleged victim, as appropriate Prevent further access by the alleged perpetrator Notify HR to document internally and document in the Salesforce platform if applicable. Collect, review, and report programmatic data statewide and across Unbound Now, assessing program effectiveness and ensuring efforts are made to measure performance and impact and improve where needed Solicit and serve as a point of contact for an academic evaluation of the effectiveness of Unbound Now’s Survivor Advocacy Program Incorporate lived experience input from survivors into the Survivor Advocacy Program evaluation and development Ensure resilience‑building and self‑care and wellness training are available for all advocacy staff to support longevity in their roles and healthiness in their interactions with one another and the survivors they serve With input from the RDs and Directors of Survivor Advocacy, ensure facilitation of the monthly advocate resilience group; manage the services of the resilience consultant Provide input to the Regional Director on annual Survivor Advocacy performance reviews or items of concern. With input from the RDs and Directors of Survivor Advocacy, set goals and provide data for advocacy‑related grant applications In coordination with Unbound Now’s Director of Communications and RDs, ensure that all needed written materials describing Unbound Now’s survivor advocacy services are accurate, consistent with one another, and available in each service area. Desired Outcomes Survivors in all locations are consistently served with professionalism and compassion - both in terms of relational support and case management. High standards of excellence are upheld in Unbound Now survivor advocacy services in all locations, including in the areas of abuse prevention, grant compliance, minimum standards, and best practices Excellent working relationships with statewide partners. Collaboration and congruence among Unbound Now offices’ survivor advocacy services. Case management software for the Survivor Advocacy Program is functioning smoothly, with updates made as needed promptly, and the advocacy staff in all locations are well supported in the use of the software. Accurate and timely programmatic reports. Communities and partner agencies understand Unbound Now’s survivor advocacy services, with strong public presentations and written materials available as needed. Experience and Education Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field Clinical licensure preferred Supervisory experience Experience working with survivors of human trafficking Trained and experienced in trauma-informed care Training in the use and supervision of motivational interviewing Job Requirements Three references (supervisor, professional, personal) Agree to and pass all required criminal background checks, including the DFPS criminal history check and the abuse and neglect registry check Pass employment eligibility verification Complete Unbound Now’s pre-service training for specialized survivor advocates Fulfil Unbound Now’s annual and ongoing training requirements for specialized survivor advocates Excellent organizational and administrative abilities Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervision skills Strong public presentation skills, in person and online Adept at the use and development of case management software (Salesforce) Culturally competent Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Ability to problem‑solve and provide coaching as needed Participation in ongoing trainings Abide by Unbound Now policies at all times Willingness to travel among Unbound Now service areas using a personal vehicle, a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance. Repetitive hand motions from frequent keyboarding. Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain proper insurance coverage, and be able to operate a personal vehicle as needed for work‑related travel. Demands sometimes require the ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds. Frequent demands require close visual attention to detail and prolonged periods of mental concentration. Demands the ability to respond on scene during all hours of the night. Ability to enter documentation into a case management software system.
